of Peakland UMC strive to open our hearts,
our minds, and our doors in thoughtful ways. to all God's
people. Come and be a
part of the ministry and mission of Peakland United Methodist
Church!"
-- Dr. Timothy R. Gerde, Pastor
Peakland United Methodist Church is located in Lynchburg, Virginia,
in the section known as Boonsboro. Peakland’s program of
ministry strives to meet the spiritual, physical, and social needs of
the many different age levels which make up our congregation. In
addition to worship services, Christian Education is provided to
help our congregation gain further understanding of what it means to
be a disciple of
Jesus Christ. Our church provides necessary facilities to encourage
and promote Christian fellowship within and beyond our congregation
and to provide outreach to the community by sponsoring and housing a
variety of meaningful programs. Located in a
fast growing community, Peakland is in a strategic location for
vibrant ministry and outreach and we look forward to the years ahead as we go "about the
Master's business."

One of the greatest gifts we receive is to have a relationship
with God through His
son Jesus
Christ. In this relationship we have available to us direct
communication
to God through talking
to Him in prayer. A powerful way to support one another as
a
church family, as friends,
neighbors, co-workers,
fellow
believers, and as a nation,
is through intercessory prayer.
Intercessory prayer is going to God on behalf of someone
else, in response to our
care and concern for each other. At Peakland Church you will
find prayer request
forms in the backs of our pews. Also, the Congregational Care
ministry actively
attempts to meet personal needs of our shut-ins and hospitalized
people.

Stephen Ministry |
|
The Stephen Series from Stephen Ministries is a complete system for
training and organizing lay people to provide one-to-one Christian
care to hurting people in and
around the local congregation. Peakland United Methodist Church has
a commissioned
team of laity trained as Stephen Ministers.
