United Methodist Men’s Breakfast

Guest Speaker:  Bill Gorman, M. Ed., Director of Bridges Treatment Center

The UMM are planning on having its second breakfast and speaker meeting of the year on Saturday morning, Dec. 6, in the dining room at 8:00 a.m. Any and all male members of PUMC and guests are invited to attend.  The featured speaker will be Bill Gorman, M. Ed., director of Bridges Treatment Center

Mr. Gorman has spent 45 years working with disadvantaged children and adolescents with various handicapping conditions. He was educated at VCU, MCV and UVA.   In 1973 he moved to Charlotte, NC, to transition a 100-year-old Episcopal orphanage into a residential treatment center.  He held faculty positions at Winthrop College, UNCC, and VCU.   In 1987 he moved to Lynchburg, VA when Centra Health was formed and there was a need to establish a residential treatment center for children. The program was started in 1987 and developed into a treatment facility now serving 102 children and adolescents from throughout the Commonwealth.
