Congregational Care
With all of the congregation's outreach, we don't neglect our own church.

Knit, Purl and Pray

If you love to knit and enjoy the fellowship of working together and praying for the needs of our church family and our community, come to the Knit, Purl, and Pray group on Thursday mornings at 9:30 in the Underground. Currently we are making helmet liners for our soldiers in Iraq, and soon we will begin knitting prayer shawl for those in times of illness or grief. If you cannot attend but you still want to join the knitting projects, contact the church office for information.
Member Care
Our Member Care Ministry provides meals and other forms of assistance to our members who are in need of special assistance due to the birth of a baby, surgery, or other major life-changing events. If you are aware of a way in which we can be of help to our Peakland brothers and sisters in Christ, please contact a member of this team through the church office. It is never too late to join the team!
Prayer Ministry
One of the greatest gifts we receive is to have a relationship
with God through His son Jesus
Christ. In this relationship we have available to us direct
communication to God through talking
to Him in prayer. A powerful way to support one another as a
church family, as friends, neighbors, co-workers, fellow
believers, and as a nation, is through intercessory prayer.
During our worship services we share our joys and concerns and lift them to God
together.

Prayer Chain
If you have prayer requests, please type them in on this secure form and they will be delivered to Ann Adams, chair of the Prayer chain. She will see that the prayer requests are communicated to the pastor and to prayer circles.
Stephen Ministries
The Stephen Series from Stephen Ministry is a complete system for training and organizing lay people to provide one-to-one Christian care to hurting people in and around the local congregation. Stephen Ministers encourage and support members of the congregation and the community with confidential, one-to-one Christian care during difficult times. These carefully trained volunteers provide weekly support as long as the need persists. Peakland United Methodist Church has a commissioned team of laity trained as Stephen Ministers. For information regarding this program for yourself or for someone you know, contact one of our Stephen Leaders by calling the church office at 384-2791. They are ready to bring the love and care of Christ into your life.
Cleanup Crews
Clean-up Crews work together at the church to keep everything in repair and ready for worshipers.
Faithful members cut the grass, plant the gardens, paint, re-organize the kitchen, patch the driveways, and repair the electrical and
plumbing facilities. Caring for the church itself is a part of our mission, too.
