Central Virginia Medical Mission Team
The Central Virginia Medical Mission Team (CVMMT) will soon be making its 11th mission trip to St. Thomas Parish, Jamaica (March 16-24). This year’s team is made up of 40 medical professionals and other health assistants from the Central Virginia area. Veteran members of CVMMT from Peakland UMC include Dr. Richard Giles, Dr. Bill Blackman, Dr. Clifford Phillips, and Robin Blackman. The week will begin with a Health Fair on Saturday at Isaac Barrant Health Centre, church at Coke Methodist in Morant Bay on Sunday, and continue with three clinics per day in outlying communities Monday-Thursday. Last year’s team saw over 2000 patients, providing free medical, dental and vision care.
PUMC has supported this mission for several years, and thanks to your contributions, the Missions Committee will once again be able to fund 50% of the travel costs for PUMC members volunteering with CVMMT. Please know that we appreciate your support for this mission and ask for your prayers as we make final preparations for the trip.CVMMT is collecting the following items for the trip. There will be boxes in the education wing lobby for your donations. Thank you, Peakland!
