Mission for Peakland's Youth
Open hearts for others in one's own home, church, community and the world overflow in the hearts of our youth.
Serving the Community
- Mission and youth at Peakland are often synonymous!
- The Youth Missions Committee, comprised of a team of youth and two adult supervisors, meets quarterly to define the youth mission events. New committee members are always welcome!
- Youth support many community outreach projects such as Relay for Life, the Alzheimer's Walk, after-prom parties for the area high schools (a safety-conscience program!), etc., etc., etc.
- Gleaning projects, adopting shut-ins, and care packages to college students are just some of the UMYF youth mission projects.
- Mission to the church family takes many forms including serving at dinners, working in the nursery or Junior Church, or volunteering for Vacation Bible School.
- Missions are a large part of the youth program. The many fundraising events give the youth a chance to work for others and have fun working together! The money earned provides for a monthly mission event (during a UMYF meeting) to support local projects and to take annual mission trips to serve others.
