Peakland's Prime Timers Enjoy Fellowship and Service
The
visitation team
meets quarterly
to plan activities
to share together with our Prime-Timers. Anyone interested
in supporting this team's work or participating the Prime-Time
activities should contact the church office and Barbara Roberts.
Social time for Prime-timers
Luncheon is shared once a month at Westminster Canterbury with our Prime-Timers. The pastor and visitation team members look forward to this visit with our church members in residence there.
None of our members are
currently living at the Williams Home,
but many of our church members serve on the board for this facility
and participate in creating activities for the ladies who live
here..
The Pastor's Tea
is an annual event in April.
Prime-Timers gather for fun and frolic. This year's event had
a Carribean theme, and the gorgeous tropical outfits of our
attendees were colorful and quite amazing!
The annual Pastor's Coffee was Spooktacular this year!
Barbara Roberts and Pam Jones led a great Sing-Along at Heritage Green "Daybreak" facility.
A good number of our Prime-Timers enjoy
the Page Turner's book club that
meets at Peakland each month for a rousing discussion of some really
thought-provoking books, such as The Pillars of the Earth
by Ken Follett and Digging to America
by
Anne Tyler.
Many of our Prime-Timers are active in
United Methodist Women,
especially in the very-service-oriented Cordelle Crist Circle.
Many of our men also participate on a regular basis at
United Methodist Men, which
meets weekly at 7:00 on Saturday mornings.
A visitation team of 10 members shares the great pleasure of visiting with and worshiping with some 45-50 senior members of our church. This team provides transportation to and from doctors' offices, goes shopping with prime-timers, goes out to lunch for special occasions, and makes sure that communion is served to those who cannot readily get to church.
