Peakland's Columbarium
with Scatter Garden & Memorial Wall
Eligibility - All members of Peakland UMC and their families as defined by the Columbarium regulations may make use of the Columbarium, the Scatter Garden, and the Memorial Wall.
Procedures - Placement of the ashes will be done only as a part of a religious service within the context of the United Methodist Church, as specified by the Pastor.
Markers - A faceplate will be provided for each niche. It will show the name and date of birth and death of the deceased. Names and dates of birth and death of the persons whose ashes are in the Scatter Garden will be placed on the base of the Memorial Cross. Plaques on the Memorial Wall will show the name, date of birth, and date of death of the deceased.
Cost - The cost of a niche reservation is $2000. Each niche can contain the remains of two persons. The price includes the expenses of opening and closing the niche and providing the marker. The Scatter Garden fee is $350. The Memorial Wall plaque fee is $350.
Records - Records pertaining to the Columbarium, the Scatter Garden, and the Memorial Wall will be overseen by the Columbarium Committee and will be maintained in the Church Office.
Reservation - Niches may be reserved in advance of need by payment of specified fees. Reservation prior to need is recommended because the Columbarium initially will contain a limited number of niches, with planned expansion of additional niches when required.
