Social Events for Prime-Timers
Luncheon is shared once at month at Westminster Canterbury with our Prime Timers. The pastor and visitation team members look forward to this visit with our church members in residence there.
The Pastor's Tea is an annual event in April. Prime Timers gather for fun and fellowship.
A good number of our Prime Timers enjoy the Page Turner's Book Club that meets at Peakland each month for a rousing discussion of some really thought-provoking books, such as The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett and Digging to America by Anne Tyler.
Many of our Prime Timers are active United Methodist Women, especially in the very service oriented Cordelle Crist Circle. Many of our men also participate in the United Methodist Men, which meets weekly at 7 a.m. on Saturday mornings.
A visitation team of 10 members shares they great pleasure of visiting with and worshiping with some 45-50 senior members of our church. This team provides transportation to and from doctor's offices, goes shipping with prime times, goes out to lunch for special occasions, and makes sure that communion is served to those who cannot readily go to church.
