Here is a list of activities Peakland has planned for the Spring and Summer as we practice “Reaching Out, Serving All and Extending God’s Table.”

Reaching Out

Kits for Conference! Peakland will once again be collecting items to make menstral, hygeine and cleaning kits! Peakland will be collecting the items and/or monetary donations to purchase the supplies.
A list of items as well as the cost to put together and ship these items will be available in May.

Serving All

Peakland will provide 100 prepared meals for Park View Cafe on Wednesdays, May 1, Sept. 18, and Nov. 13.

On September 8th we are again partnering with Rise Against Hunger, a non profit that packages and delivers meals all over the world. At 4:30 pm we will gather in the fellowship hall to pack upwards of 10,000 grain based meals in 2 hours. Following the meal packaging we will gather together for dinner. This event is open to all ages, and will serve as the kick off to our fall programming and ministries. More information to follow!

Help provide a meal for Miriam’s House!Dates are Mondays, July 15; Sept. 16 and Nov. 18. Sign up information is available on our website, If you have questions, please reach out to the office or contact BJ McGraw at (434) 258-2581.

Beginning in April, we are partnering with Daily Bread to serve meals on the fourth Sunday of the month. From 9:30 am-12:30 pm, we will package and distribute meals to those in need. Location: 721 Clay St, Lynchburg, VA 24504. Andrew will be working with the group to help us experience this mission work as a form of hands on worship. There are only 4 spaces available each month and you can register at the sign ups by the mission drop off spaces in the narthex or fellowship hall.

Extending God's Table

pre-planning.Everything you need to know about supporting Peakland now, end-of-life, giving, and pre-planning your funeral. The VAUMC Foundation and Tharp Funeral Home will be here in the Fellowship Hall Monday, May 13, 7:00p.m. - 8:30 p.m. to answer your questions and offer advice.


Join us on July 14th at City Stadium as we “Root, root, root for the home team!” We have reserved the picnic area by third base for the Hillcats. Cost is $21 per person, which includes the price of admission + a Hamburger, Hot Dog, Cookie, Chips, and a Soda/Water per guest. More information to follow!

During the summer (June-August) Pastor Joe and Deacon Andrew will each be leading an affinity group once a month. These gatherings are built around joining together in fellowship and fun. You can see more information on the individual groups:
Cooking with Joe
Join Pastor Joe in cooking (or baking) something incredibly delicious at 7pm on the 4th Wednesday of the month (June 26, July 31, and August 28). There is a sign up sheet in both the narthex and fellowship hall but registration is not required!
Gaming with Andrew
Join Andrew in tabletop games at 7pm on the 2nd Sunday of the month (June 10, July 17, and August 14). Bring your favorite game to share or play one of the many Andrew will bring. Whether you are an avid gamer or you’ve never played a board game before all are welcome!

Pentecost Sunday

Sunday, May 19th, we will gather for a united worship service to celebrate both Pentecost Sunday and Confirmation Sunday at 10:00 in the Fellowship Hall. The service will be planned and led by our youth. Join us in celebrating the birthday of the church and our new members!

New Parking Lot!!

Peakland’s new parking lot is set to begin construction in June. Information on the project will be in the bulletins as we get closer to the start of construction.
